What’s on your LI$T?

How often should you check your credit score? Why shouldn’t you wear a formal tuxedo to a job interview or career fair? When’s the last time you asked someone to be your mentor? Do you know the answer to these among many other questions? You might laugh or be confused, but there are a WHOLE lot of us who don’t know and if you are wondering…YES I’ve seen a guy show up to an interview with a formal tuxedo on like he was going to prom or about to get married. Yeah…not a good look.

But the bottom line is…NO ONE TELLS YOU THIS STUFF. We learn all of this knowledge in school that for the most part we will never use again, but no one tells you the real nitty gritty about what it means to be young and how to handle your business. There is no class to teach you what it means to be a true college student and by true college student we don’t mean being able to buy alcohol and sending in your audition tape to MTV’s The Real World. We mean being capable and competent young people who can take advantage of their youth to be successful in the future. We want The LI$T to be that one stop shop for you. We’re not saying we know it all, heck we are recent college graduates ourselves, but this is what we have learned so far and we feel that we could be a great resource to help others just like us.

We want our readers to think of The LI$T as their personal development list. We make lists for everything from the grocery store to school assignments. Why not make a personal list of things that are important to know and research and possibly accomplish? We already know that there are things you just happen to learn in life and sometimes you learn the hard way. It makes sense to us to have all of these hidden gems in one easily accessible place.

So we challenge you to use this blog and constantly ask yourself, ‘What’s on YOUR LI$T?’
